The Associated Press Sports Editors’ 2016 summer conference will be held in the Omni Hotel in downtown Charlotte, pending approval by APSE’s Executive Committee in an e-mail vote. This announcement must be posted on the APSE website for 10 days. Voting will close June 8. Executive Committee members can cast their votes by e-mailing Executive Director Jack Berninger at jackapse@aol.com
ESPN.com will be the primary host for the June 22-25 conference, and the room rate will be $179. The group rate does not include the valet parking fee of $20, but numerous surface lots are nearby.
The Omni Charlotte Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Charlotte’s financial district and only 15 minutes from Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. It is Triple-AAA Four Diamond hotel that is linked to 12 city blocks via a sky bridge. The hotel is just minutes away from the cultural and entertainment districts.
APSE’s officers recommend the location.
