Job Description

Bally Sports is looking for a Digital News Content Producer to package and program content for our soon-to-launch new national website and syndication partners including 21 regional sports networks across the U.S. This producer will master production tools for creating audience-facing digital content and help colleagues do the same. They will understand our online voice, audience, and objectives, and will be trusted to make editorial decisions for our sites and partners with little oversight. The job is remote (work from home) with evening and weekend work as dictated by events.

Site programming and packaging

  • Update our sports platforms with relevant and timely news, photos, engaging headlines, videos and related content
  • Create and publish content including breaking news, highlights, photo galleries and push notifications
  • React to breaking news with a commitment to speed balanced with accuracy, and help others do the same
  • Exercise strong news judgment and support our platforms mission and voice
  • Collaborate with digital content managers


  • Ideate and advocate for new site features and functionality
  • Address errors, outages, and broken functionality or escalate as necessary
  • Master our photo sources/rights agreements and best practices – and facilitate photo sourcing throughout Sinclair’s digital sports organization
  • Be fluent with video production tools

Syndication partners

  • Surface regionally produced videos and other local content with national impact for use on our national platforms, and vice versa
  • Manually craft app alerts to fans who’ve asked for relevant news, video, and more
  • Populate feeds, tag and title content, and communicate with colleagues to help them troubleshoot publishing obstacles
  • Populate our YouTube channel with relevant videos, SEO friendly title, and teases. Curate YouTube playlists


  • The right person for this role will be:
  • Deeply knowledgeable about the NBA, MLB, NHL sports and teams
  • A self-starter requiring little oversight while maintaining excellent attention to detail·      
  • Willing to work hours as dictated by the digital news cycle and sports including evening and weekends
  • Collaborative and passionate with a team-first attitude toward building a next-generation sports digital media business


  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field
  • Demonstrable experience and aptitude for web publishing tools including:
    • Photo editing software (Photoshop, etc.)
    • Video editing software (Premiere, Wildmoka)
    • Content Management Systems
    • Experience with audio production software is preferred
  • Demonstrable experience writing, copy editing, prepping and publishing content for the web (including some HTML) and mobile app
  • Thorough knowledge of digital media best practices, including SEO and content sharing
  • Strong editorial news judgment
  • Must be a good communicator and able to work cross-functionally
  • Organized, detail-oriented and able to multitask under pressure
  • Writing skills and working knowledge of Associated Press Style a plus
