The Morning Sentinel newspaper in Waterville and Kennebec Journal newspaper in Augusta are seeking an enterprising and energetic journalist to join its sports reporting staff for the Maine papers and Centralmaine.com. This reporter will cover high school and collegiate sports games in the greater Augusta and Waterville area while devoting time to important regional issues, features and enterprise projects.
The reporter must have: excellent reporting and writing skills; a sense of urgency to beat the competition on developing news; comfort with a digital-first environment; a proven ability to file stories on deadline; and experience rounding out stories with depth and context. Applicants must also be willing to work nights and weekends.
