Jeff Rosen of the Kansas City Star has been elected APSE’s first vice president and Robert Gagliardi of WyoSports third vice president, based on results of APSE’s annual election that ended yesterday.

Because of a vacancy, first and second vice presidents were to be elected. The person with the most votes would be first vice president, and the person with the second most votes would become second vice president. The third vice president represents papers under 40,000 circulation and is elected in separate balloting.

John Bednarowski of the Marietta Daily Journal and Ed Guzman of the Seattle Times tied for the second VP position. That tie will be broken with a runoff next week. Ballots will be sent out Monday.

Loren Nelson of the Minnesota Hockey Hub and Michael Peters of the Tulsa World completed the strong field for the fist/second VP positions. Emily Horos of the Aberdeen (S.D.) News and Justin Pelletier of the Sun Journal of Lewiston, Maine were runners-up for third VP.

All new officers will take office at the closing meeting at the June 22-25 summer conference in Charlotte.
