I own a resume that demonstrates hard work ethic and versatility.
I won state AP awards for spot sports reporting the last two years, along with two top honors from the Iowa Newspaper Association — the Outstanding Young Iowa Journalist Award in 2013, and the Harrison Weber Award for Investigative Reporting in 2015. While writing and reporting has been my primary focus, I am also a recognized photographer (first place for Best News Photo in 2015), page designer (first place, Best Front Page, 2013) and videographer (first place, Best Video, 2013). I have obtained several honors that demonstrate my knack for “on-the-spot” breaking news coverage, which includes earning three more recognitions this year from the AP and INA.
My work in sports includes professional, college and high school athletics reporting. I maintained a Minor League Baseball beat for a mid-sized daily newspaper in Iowa, and freelanced collegiate volleyball articles for a national magazine and large circulation daily.
