The Las Vegas Review-Journal is seeking a copy editor with strong sports experience — especially in regard to the NFL and NHL — for its universal desk.
Experience editing news, business and features copy is a plus, but the premium for this position is on sports expertise. The ideal candidate can write catchy headlines, catch mistakes others miss, quickly compile roundups and turn around a late-breaking, section-front story in a matter of minutes.
The candidate should also have the ability to take on special projects such as special sections and books, and work with others to plan sections and coordinate copy flow for print, digital and other platforms.
Applicants should have a minimum of five years of experience as a copy editor at a mid-size to metro daily newspaper. Familiarity with The Associated Press Stylebook is a must.
Send resume and work samples to Michael Symes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Review-Journal is an equal-opportunity employer and a drug-free workplace. A pre-employment drug screening is required.
