Sports Reporter – New Orleans
Zion is here. And this is your chance to cover him. The largest news organization in Louisiana, The Times-Picayune | New Orleans Advocate, is looking for a dynamic, versatile beat writer to cover the Pelicans and the most dynamic rookie since LeBron. Of course, it’s not just Zion Williamson. In the past six months alone, team owner Gayle Benson has cleared out the team leadership group and put David Griffin in charge. He, in turn, has beefed up the front office, hired the best training staff in the NBA and revamped the roster itself. The result? Who knows where the Pelicans will end up by the end of this season. But it’s clear that all NBA fans, not just locals, will be watching this team grow from the ground up. National NBA writers are going to cover the Pelicans, and we need someone who isn’t afraid to compete — someone who’s going to know the organization from top to bottom and will establish himself/herself as the go-to person for daily Pelicans news, enterprise stories and game coverage.
Compensation: base pay and benefits package (health, dental, life, disability, vision, 401k with company match, vacation, holidays and sick time).
