  • Kristen Balboni joined the Carolina Panthers as their new team reporter. She was previously with Stadium. 
  • Michael Baron, after being laid off in March, was re-hired as sports editor at The Calhoun (Georgia) Times. 
  • Nolan Beilstein said he was laid off by Bluffton (South Carolina) Today as a sports reporter. 
  • Abby Bitterman announced she was laid off as a sports reporter at The Oklahoman in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where she covered high schools and Oklahoma University. 
  • Brandon Boles was laid off as a sports reporter for Prairie Mountain Media. 
  • Matt Bove said he was laid off as a sports reporter at The New Jersey Herald in Newton, N.J. 
  • Dan Brood announced he was laid off as sports reporter for The Tigard (Oregon) Times. 
  • Pat Caputo was laid off as a sports columnist at The Oakland Press in Oakland City, Mich. 
  • B.W. Carlin said he was laid off by the XFL, where he worked in social media. 
  • Ryan Clarke announced he was laid off by The Newberg (Oregon) Graphic as a sports reporter. 
  • Kerry Eggers was laid off as sports reporter at the Portland (Oregon) Tribune, where he’d worked for 19 years.  
  • Bob Ford left his sports columnist role with The Philadelphia Inquirer. 
  • Sam Fortier announced he joined the Washington NFL franchise beat for The Washington Post. 
  • Dan Fouts was replaced as an NFL analyst with CBS, according to numerous reports. 
  • Robb Garofalo announced he was laid off as a sports reporter at the Aberdeen (South Dakota) News. 
  • Suzanne Halliburton was laid off as a sports reporter at the Austin (Texas) Statesman. 
  • Lance Hartzler started a new role as sports editor at the Arizona Daily Sun.
  • Jordan Honeycutt announced he was laid off as a sports reporter at the Sun Journal in New Bern, N.C. 
  • Dave Isaac said he was laid off as a sports reporter at The Courier Post in Cherry Hill, N.J. 
  • Dan Kadar said his contract was terminated as a sports reporter at SB Nation. 
  • Reed Koutelas announced he was laid off by Waverly (Iowa) Newspapers. 
  • Kwani A. Lunis announced she joined NBC 10 Boston. She previously worked for NBC Sports Boston.  
  • Brandon Marcello joined 247 Sports as a national college football reporter. 
  • Danny Martin resigned as sports editor at the Fairbanks (Alaska) Daily News-Miner. 
  • Abbey Mastracco was laid off as a sports reporter at the Bergen (New Jersey) Record. 
  • Grant McGalliard joined the Springtown (Texas) Epigraph as a sports reporter. 
  • Kevin McNamara announced he was laid off as a sports reporter at the Providence (Rhode Island) Journal. 
  • Dave Newman ended his 31 years covering high school sports at the New Richmond (Wisconsin) News. 
  • Ben Olson said he was laid off as a sports reporter with Sound Publishing in the state of Washington. 
  • Maurice Patton announced he was laid off as sports editor at The Columbia (Tennessee) Daily Herald. 
  • Jason Peake was laid off as sports reporter at The Joplin (Missouri) Globe. 
  • Tashan Reed announced he moved to covering the Las Vegas Raiders for The Athletic. He previously covered Florida State for The Athletic. 
  • Myles Simmons became senior writer/editor for the Carolina Panthers. 
  • Bob Sutton was laid off as sports editor by The Times-News in Burlington, N.C. 
  • Edwin Stanton said he was laid off as executive sports editor at the Tuscaloosa (Alabama) News. 
  • Brian Thomas announced he was laid off as sports editor at the Montgomery County Chronicle in Independence, Kansas. 
  • Cameron Van Til said he was laid off as sports reporter at The Everett (Washington) Herald. 
  • Grant Wahl was terminated by Sports Illustrated/Maven, where he covered soccer.
  • Jewell Walston left her role as Montgomery (Alabama) Advertiser sports editor to become Asheville (North Carolina) Citizen Times executive editor.  
  • Charlotte Wilder joined FOX Sports to do multimedia for various digital platforms. She was previously with Sports Illustrated/Maven. 
  • The Boston Herald laid off John Connolly as sports reporter, Marisa Ingemi as Boston Bruins reporter, and Justin Pelletier as sports editor.
  • The Burbank (California) Leader, Glendale (California) News-Press and La Cañada Valley Sun ceased publication, which led to layoffs for sports editor Jeff Tully and sports reporters Vincent Nguyen and Charles Rich
  • The Mankato (Minnesota) Free Press named Chad Courier as sports editor after Shane Frederick left his sports editor role for a position outside of journalism. 
  • The New York Post parted ways with sports reporter Kevin Kernan and sports columnist George Willis
  • RiverTown Multimedia in Red Wing, Minn., terminated the roles of sports reporters Alec Hamilton and Martin Schlegel.
