  • Tyson Alger announced his departure from The Athlete, where he covered the Oregon Ducks. 
  • Pat Beck retired after 24 years as sports editor at the St. Peter (Minnesota) Herald. 
  • Zac Bellman joined the Stevens Point (Wisconsin) Journal to cover high school sports. He was previously a sports reporter at the Trempealeau County (Wisconsin) Times. 
  • Mark Birdsall went from sports editor to news writer at the Huron Daily Tribune in Bad Axe, Michigan. 
  • Jon Blau joined The Post and Courier in Charleston, South Carolina, to cover Clemson sports. He previously covered Indiana for The Bloomington (Indiana) Herald-Times. 
  • Frank Bonner II took a role covering Memphis Tigers football for The Daily Memphian. He previously covered Oklahoma State for the Tulsa World. 
  • Griffin Callaghan became sports editor of the Cherokee Tribune in Canton, Georgia.
  • Michael Childers left his sports reporter role at the Commonwealth Journal in Somerset, Kentucky. 
  • Josh Criswell became the University of Wyoming sports beat reporter for the Wyoming Tribune Eagle in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was previously sports editor at The Huntsville (Texas) Item. 
  • Jesse Crittenden took a sports editor position at the Norman (Oklahoma) Transcript. 
  • Karen Crouse resigned from the New York Times as a sports reporter. 
  • Joe Dandron announced his new role covering high school sports for the Spartanburg (South Carolina) Herald-Journal. 
  • Jarrid Denney became Oregon Ducks reporter for ScoopDuck.com. He was previously a sports reporter at the Corvallis (Oregon) Gazette Times. 
  • Andy Dieckhoff took a sports editor role at the Madras (Oregon) Pioneer and Central Oregonian in Prineville, Oregon. 
  • Mike Drago left his role covering high school sports at the Reading (Pennsylvania) Eagle. 
  • Tyler Dragon moved to covering the NFL for USA Today. 
  • David Esser became sports editor at The Snyder (Texas) News. 
  • Gabe Fernandez joined SFGate in San Francisco as a sports reporter. He was previously with CBS Sports.

  • Art Kabelowsky announced he was laid off as high school sports editor at The Capital Times in Madison, Wisconsin. 
  • Johnathan Kirkland took the sports editor role at The News-Item in Shamokin, Pennsylvania. 
  • J.L. Kirven joined the Louisville Courier Journal as a high school sports reporter. 
  • Owen Krucoff became a sports reporter at The Exponent Telegram in Clarksburg, West Virginia. 
  • Doug Kyed started as a national NFL reporter for PFF. He was previously with NESN. 
  • Eli Lederman joined Tulsa World as its Oklahoma State sports reporter. He was previously at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
  • Ainslie Lee became a high school sports reporter at the Gainesville (Florida) Sun. 
  • Stacey Leissing took a sports reporter role with Wicked Local. 
  • Juston W. Lewis joined The Florida Times-Union in Jacksonville, Florida, as a sports reporter. 
  • John Livingston left his sports reporter role at The Durango (Colorado) Herald. 
  • Chris Martucci became sports editor at the Orange Observer in Winter Garden, Florida.
  • Michael McCleary started covering sports for the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. 
  • Andrew McCulloch joined Scorebook Live to cover high school sports. He previously covered sports for The Monitor in McAllen, Texas. 
  • Dalton Middleton became sports editor at The Wetumpka (Alabama) Herald. He was previously a sports reporter at the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal in Tupelo, Mississippi. 
  • Austin Monteith departed his sports editor role at the Bemidji (Minnesota) Pioneer. 
  • Robert Morales left his sports reporter role at the Pasadena (California) Star-News to become a news reporter. 
  • Michael Odom became sports editor of The Milan (Tennessee) Mirror-Exchange. He previously covered high school sports for The Jackson (Tennessee) Sun. 
  • Matthew Parker started as a sports reporter at the Concord (New Hampshire) Monitor. 
  • Greg Pickel joined Blue White Illustrated to cover Penn State. He was previously with PennLive.com.
  • Mike Piellucci was named sports editor at D Magazine. 
  • Kenzie Possee became a senior editor for NFL and fantasy football with The Action Network. She was previously with CBS Sports.
  • Brad Rosemas left his sports reporter role at The Daily American in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. 
  • Mitch Rupert announced leaving the Williamsport (Pennsylvania) Sun-Gazette as sports writer. 
  • Tom Rysinski became sports editor at The Dispatch in Columbus, Mississippi. 
  • Michael Savaloja left his role as sports editor at The Jamestown (North Dakota) Sun. 
  • Martin Schlegel became sports editor at the Republican Eagle in Red Wing, Minnesota. 
  • D.J. Shockley joined FOX 5 Atlanta as a sports anchor. 
  • Adam Sparks moved to covering Tennessee Vols sports for the USA Today Network South Region. 
  • Augusta Stone joined The State in Columbia, South Carolina, to cover South Carolina Gamecocks sports. 
  • Phillip Suitts left his role as a sports journalist at the Palm Beach (Florida) Post.
  • Daron Sutton parted ways with the Los Angeles Angels, who he was a play-by-play voice for this season. 
  • Mike Tenney became sports editor for the Calhoun (Georgia) Times. 
  • Kevin Thomas left his sports columnist role at the Portland (Maine) Press Herald.
  • Tyler Tyre took the sports editor role at The Katy (Texas) Times. He was previously a sports reporter at The Victoria (Texas) Advocate.  
  • Maria Vasquez became sports editor of Pinal Central in Casa Grande, Arizona. 
  • Mason Wittner departed as sports editor at The Covington (Georgia) News.
  • Tyler Wombles became a sports reporter for the Daily Times in Maryville, Tennessee. 
  • The Advociate/Times-Picayune added Jeff Duncan as a sports columnist. He was previously with The Athletic. Zach Ewing took a new role as sports betting and gaming director for The Advocate/Times-Picayune. 
  • The Athletic saw the departures of Scott Burnside, Molly Knight, and Michael Sanserino as sports journalists. Mike Vorkunov left the New York Knicks beat to be the national basketball business reporter.  
  • The Buffalo News added Katherine Fitzgerald as a Bills reporter. She was previously with the Arizona Republic. Keith McShea left his role as deputy sports editor at The Buffalo News. 
  • The Daily News of Newburyport, Massachusetts, named Kyle Gaudette as sports editor. Mac Cerullo went from sports editor to covering the Boston Red Sox. 
  • ESPN added Sam Acho as a college football analyst and Mike Coppinger as a boxing/MMA analyst. Coppinger was previously with The Athletic. Marcus Vanderberg became a senior NBA editor at ESPN. He was previously a senior editor at Yahoo! ESPN announced an interview show hosted by Ahmad Rashad called “Ahmad Inside.”
  • FOX hired Doug McIntyre to cover soccer and Josh Sims as a NASCAR reporter. 
  • The Houston Chronicle added Brooks Kubena as Texans reporter. He was previously with The Advocate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Jon Poorman took the high school sports coordinator role at the Houston Chronicle. He was previously sports editor at The Courier in Conroe, Texas. 
  • Learfield IMG hired Kate Scott to do play-by-play and Mike Golic as an analyst for a weekly national college football broadcast. 
  • NBC added Maria Taylor as a sports journalist. She was previously with ESPN. Michael Phelps joined NBC as a swimming analyst. 
  • On3 added Jeremy Crabtree as senior national recruiting editor, James Fletcher III as a staff writer, and Eric Prisbell as national sports business writer. 
  • The Philadelphia Inquirer added Diamond Leung as deputy sports editor. Damichael Cole joined the Philadelphia Inquirer as a sports and culture reporter. Giana Han joined the Inquirer as the Flyers reporter. She previously covered Auburn for AL.com. Marc Narducci retired as a sports reporter at the Philadelphia Inquirer.
  • South Florida Sun Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, named Khobi Price as the Miami Hurricanes reporter. David Furones became the Sun Sentinel’s Miami Dolphins reporter. 
  • The Star-Herald in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, named Bryanna Winner as sports editor. Jeff Van Patten went from sports editor to a visual journalist plus features/breaking news reporter. 
  • The Washington Post named Greg Schimmel as sports breaking news editor. Jai-Leen James became operations editor in sports. 
  • WJOX-FM 94.5 in Birmingham, Alabama, added Greg McElroy to team with Cole Cubelic on a morning show.
