  • Will Backus was hired by the Knoxville (Tennessee) News-Sentinel to cover Tennessee Lady Vols sports. 
  • Matthew Bain became deputy sports editor for the Des Moines Register. 
  • Joe Baird retired as sports editor at The Salt Lake Tribune in Salt Lake City. 
  • Danny Barletta took a sports reporter role at DHK Sports in Clinton, South Carolina. 
  • Yash Bhika joined Bleacher Report as a social media content programmer. 
  • Zach Birdsong left his sports editor role at the Tullahoma (Tennessee) News to become a communications specialist for Tullahoma City Schools.  
  • Jed Blackwell departed as a sports reporter at the Spartanburg (South Carolina) Herald-Journal. 
  • JT Brown joined the Seattle Kraken as a TV analyst. 
  • Lydia Craver became the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette assistant managing editor for sports. Previously, she was coordinating editor at ESPN. 
  • Cory Diaz joined the Greenville (South Carolina) News to cover the South Carolina Gamecocks. He previously was a sports reporter at The Monroe (Louisiana) News-Star. 
  • Tyler Dixon departed his role as sports editor at the Owensboro (Kentucky) Times. 
  • Jeff Duncan joined the New Orleans Times-Picayune to cover betting. He was previously with The Athletic. 
  • Christian Eby became a sports reporter at The Sentinel in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. 
  • Kevin Eckleberry departed as sports editor of the LaGrange (Georgia) Daily News. He joined the magazine Sideline Pass. 
  • Andre Fernandez joined the Tallahassee (Florida) Democrat to cover Florida State. Fernandez takes over the beat from Antwan V. Staley
  • Nick Frazier departed as a sports reporter from the Lake County (Illinois) News-Sun.
  • Kevin Graeler went from sports editor to managing editor of the Columbia (Missouri) Daily Journal. 
  • Reed T. Graff became sports editor at the Fredericksburg (Texas) Standard. 
  • Ryan Gregory took the sports editor role at the Sun Prairie (Wisconsin) Star. 
  • Tim Gross became the sports editor at The Sentinel in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. 
  • Ariel Helwani joined The Action Network. He previously covered MMA for ESPN. 
  • Garrick Hodge took an Ohio State football reporter position with Eleven Warriors. He previously worked for The Dispatch in Columbus, Mississippi. 
  • Tyler Horka announced his move to cover Notre Dame for Blue and Gold. He previously covered Mississippi State for the Clarion Ledger in Jackson, Tennessee. 
  • Mike Hutton took a buyout after 24 years at the Post-Tribune of Northwest Indiana in Merrillville, Indiana. 
  • Gidal Kaiser became sports editor of the Oelwein (Iowa) Daily Register and Vinton (Iowa) Newspapers. 
  • Patrick Kotnik left his role as a sports reporter at The Bradford (Pennslyvania) Era.
  • Travis Lazarczyk announced plans to join The Portland (Maine) Press Herald as a sports reporter. He was previously with the Morning Sentinel in Waterville, Maine.
  • Savannah Leigh joined GolfLink at s a reporter. She was previously with The Brunswick (Georgia) News. 
  • John Livingston departed The Durango (Colorado) Herald as sports/outdoors editor.  
  • Greg Macafee named the lead of the sports department for The Vindicator in Youngstown, Ohio, and Tribune Chronicle in Warren, Ohio.  He was previously with Trib Live in Tarentum, Pennsylvania. 
  • Madison McCord left his position as assistant sports editor at The Spokesman-Review in Spokane, Washington. 
  • Alex McDaniel became managing editor of For The Win. She was previously with SB Nation. 
  • Steve Moore’s sports editor position was eliminated by Pennsylvania Prep Live. 
  • Stan Morris retired as a high school sports reporter for the Peoria (Illinois) Journal Star. 
  • Parker O’Brien became sports editor of the Adirondack Daily Enterprise in Saranac Lake, New York, and the Lake Placid (New York) News. 
  • Glenn Ordway announced his retirement from his daily radio show on WEEI-FM 93.7 in Boston after more than 30 years at the station. 
  • Tim O’Sullivan moved on from his sportswriter role at the Concord (New Hampshire) Monitor.  
  • Roy Parry departed the Orlando Sentinel, where he covered the Magic. 
  • Nick Petaros parted ways as sports reporter for the Waterloo-Cedar Falls (Iowa) Courier.  
  • Elliott Pohnl joined The Sporting News as managing editor. 
  • Jorge Ramos announced his departure as a sports reporter at the Beaumont (Texas) Enterprise.  
  • Lori Schmidt took the assistant sports editor role at The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch. 
  • Abby Schnable became the Wisconsin Badgers reporter for the Wisconsin State Journal in Madison, Wisconsin. 
  • Matt Schuckman departed as senior sports writer at the Quincy (Illinois) Herald-Whig. 
  • Jacob Shames departed as a sports reporter at The Crookston (Minnesota) Daily Times. 
  • Garth Shanklin became sports editor of the Brown County (Ohio) Press; the News Democrat in Ripley, Ohio; and the Ripley Bee in Georgetown, Ohio. 
  • Chris Siers was named sports editor of the Marshall County Tribune in Lewisburg, Tennessee. He takes over for the retiring Anthony Puca. 
  • Dennis Silva II joined VYPE Houston as a sports reporter. He was previously sports editor at the Katy (Texas) Times. 
  • Joe Simon left his role as a sports reporter at the Tribune Chronicle in Warren, Ohio. 
  • Lindsey Smith departed The Colorado Springs (Colorado) Gazette as preps editor. 
  • Marc Stein left The New York Times, where he covered the NBA. 
  • Matthew Stevens joined Illini Guys as a football writer/analyst. He was previously with Maven. 
  • Tim Trower retired as sports editor at the Mail Tribune in Medford, Oregon. 
  • Josh Vitale left The Montgomery (Alabama) Advertiser as Auburn sports reporter. 
  • Peter Warner went from sports writer to outdoors editor at the Bangor (Maine) Daily News. 
  • Brian Wright departed as sports editor from Pinal Central in Casa Grande, Arizona.
  • Marc Zumoff retired as the Philadelphia 76ers play-by-play TV broadcaster. 
  • The Athletic added James Holzhauer to write about sports betting. Shannon Ryan, previously of the Chicago Tribune, joined The Athletic as women’s basketball managing editor. Steve Berman became the Oakland A’s reporter for The Athletic. Sam Blum became the Los Angeles Angels reporter for The Athletic. Mike Piellucci departed from The Athletic as an NBA editor. Alex Coffey departed The Athletic as a sports writer. Lindsey Wisniewski joined The Athletic as an NBA editor. 
  • The Baltimore Sun added Tim Schwartz as senior sports content editor. He previously was sports editor at The Capital in Annapolis, Maryland. Gerry Jackson retired as sports editor at The Baltimore Sun. 
  • CBS added Lisa Leslie and John Salley as analysts for the BIG3.  
  • The Chicago Tribune saw the departures of Pat Disabato from covering high school sports and Christopher Sosa as a digital sports editor. 
  • ESPN added Blake Bolden, Ryan Callahan, Cassie Campbell-Pascall, Chris Chelios, Rick DiPietro, Hilary Knight, Mark Messier, AJ Mleczko Griswold and Kevin Weekes to cover the NHL. Brian Custer took a new role at ESPN broadcasting college sports and hosting SportsCenter; he was previously with FOX. 
  • FOX had Jeff Gordon announce his departure as an auto racing analyst. David Katz plans to leave FOX Sports executive vice president.   
  • The Miami Herald promoted John Devine to sports editor. Adam Beasley announced his departure from the Miami Herald as Dolphins beat reporter. 
  • NBC added Vince Carter, Tony Hawk, Kara Lawson, Jessica Mendoza, Candace Parker, and Zora Stephenson to its Olympics broadcasting team. Cari Champion and Kenny Mayne will host a nightly Olympics show on Peacock. 
  • The Northeast Mississippi State Journal in Tupelo, Mississippi, added Michael Katz as its Ole Miss reporter and Stefan Krajisnik as its Mississippi State reporter. Parrish Alford moved to be a sports columnist.
  • On3 added Nikki Chavanelle as Alabama and national analyst; Gerry Hamilton as senior national recruiting analyst; Mike Huguenin joined as a national executive editor; Jeremy Johnson joined the national recruiting team; Ivan Maisel as a sports reporter; and Chad Simmons as director of recruiting. Matt Zenitz joined as a senior national college football reporter, and he previously was at AL.com. 
  • The Philadelphia Inquirer added Josh Tolentino to cover the Eagles. He previously worked at The Athletic. DeAntae Prince joined the Inquirer as senior editor for the NBA and 76ers. Les Bowen retired from covering the Eagles for the Philadelphia Inquirer. Paul Domowitch took a buyout from the Philadelphia Daily News/Inquirer.
  • Sports Illustrated added Marcus Krum as a digital producer and Daniela Perez as an employee. 
  • USA Today added Emily Olsen as a sports producer and Jaylon T. Thompson as a sports journalist.
