- Jim Fuller took a buyout to leave the New Haven (Connecticut) Register, where he covered sports.
- Melissa M. Geisler joined Sinclair Broadcast Group as executive producer for digital sports news.
- Glynn Hill became a sports reporter at The Washington Post.
- Ashley Hufford was laid off by Yahoo Sports.
- Alex Iniguez left his assistant sports editor role at The Seattle Times to become assistant metro editor.
- Mark Jones became the Sacramento Kings play-by-play broadcaster.
- Charles McDonald joined For The Win to cover the NFL.
- Robert Murray joined FanSided as an MLB columnist.
- Diana C. Nearhos decided to leave her role as NHL reporter at the Tampa Bay Times.
- Kevin Oeth became sports editor at the Fayette (Missouri) Advertiser. He took over for Jeff Yoder.

- Stu Whitney took a buyout to leave the Argus Leader in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he was a sports reporter.
- Mike Wilner parted ways with Sportsnet as Toronto Blue Jays play-by-play broadcaster.
- ESPN named Ryan Ruocco as lead play-by-play broadcaster for women’s college basketball. ESPN announced layoffs that included copy editor Jim Barrero, podcast producer Ashley Braband, ESPNW writer Graham Hays, NFL editor Scott Kendrick, college football reporter Ivan Maisel, ESPN Esports editor Sean Morrison, MLB reporter Claire Smith, ESPN The Magazine editor Ty Wenger, and editor Elida Witthoeft. Libby Geist Wildes is leaving as ESPN vice president and executive producer of ESPN Films and 30 for 30. Connor Schell is leaving as ESPN executive vice president of content.
