Professor of Practice/Director of the National Sports Journalism Center
 
Indiana University’s School of Journalism on the Indiana University – Purdue University at Indianapolis campus seeks candidates for a Professor of Practice/Director of the National Sports Journalism Center.
 
As head of the nation’s most comprehensive institute for the study of sports journalism in America, the director will provide excellent leadership and an entrepreneurial spirit for the center to develop top quality and cutting-edge programs on sports media for everyone from high school students to veteran professionals. In addition to providing center leadership, the director will teach in the sports journalism program, serve as the NSJC’s public figure in university and professional events, and oversee the unique student news bureau model with NCAA and professional sports events, among other duties.
 
Successful candidates will have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) in journalism, communications or related field and 10 years of professional media experience.
