  • McClain Baxley announced he was laid off by the Athens (Georgia) Banner-Herald, where he was a sports writer. 
  • Mike Carmin departed from his sports writer role at the Journal & Courier in Lafayette, Indiana.
  • Dan Dakich parted ways with WFNI-FM 107.5, where he hosted “The Dan Dakich Show.” 
  • Andrew Destin moved to cover the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pirates for the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
  • Nathan Dominitz announced he was laid off by the Savannah (Georgia) Morning News, where he was a sports content editor. 
  • Chris “The Bear” Fallica joined FOX Sports. He was previously with ESPN. 
  • George Guido announced his retirement as a sports columnist at TribLive.com in Pittsburgh. 
  • Jamie Hancock started as the assistant sports editor at the Dallas Morning News. 
  • Kim Jones joined Newsday to cover the New York Giants. 
  • Andy Kostka began covering the Orioles for The Baltimore Banner. He was previously with The Baltimore Sun. 
  • Joe Kraus started covering high school and college sports for the Niagara Falls (New York) Gazette.

  • Ross Shinberg became the regional sports editor at the North Scott Press in Eldridge, Iowa. 
  • Joe Sirera announced his retirement as a sports reporter at the Greensboro (North Carolina) News & Record.

  • Gordon Wittenmyer parted ways with NBC Sports Chicago, where he covered the Chicago Cubs. 
  • Lynn Worthy announced he is joining the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to cover the Cardinals. He was previously with the Kansas City Star. 
  • ESPN added Tom Crean as a college basketball analyst. David Jacoby parted ways with ESPN, where he was part of the “Jalen and Jacoby” show. Amber Wilson joined ESPN Radio as part of the “Joe & Amber” show. 
  • NBC added Curt Byrum, Brad Faxon and Smylie Kaufman to its golf coverage. 
  • The Republican Journal in Darlington, Wisconsin, added Casey Lindecrantz as sports editor after Tom Gunnell departed from that role. 
  • The San Diego (California) Union-Tribune added Ryan Finley as sports editor. He was previously with the Arizona Daily Star. Jay Posner retired as sports editor. 
  • The Tulsa (Oklahoma) World moved Kelly Hines to cover Tulsa athletics and moved Dean Ruhl to cover Oklahoma State athletics. 
  • USA Today conducted layoffs. Emily Olsen announced she was laid off as assistant sports editor. Analis Bailey announced she was laid off as a sports reporter. Rachel Axon announced she was laid off as a sports reporter.
