The position requires design, editing and content development skills. And, it requires a passion for college and prep sports.
The State is deep in the heart of SEC country. The University of South Carolina is our franchise. We cover the Gamecocks and the SEC on multiple platforms — in paper, online at GoGamecocks.com (a paid web site) and in a quarterly magazine, GoGamecocks The Magazine.
Our magazine "Back-to-Back Champions" after the South Carolina baseball team won the national championship in 2011 was named best designed magazine in the annual SND contest.
Our Sunday section grows to 20-24 pages during college football season. We place heavy emphasis on content as well as visuals.
