A reminder that the US Olympic Committee is accepting request from U.S. media organizations for accreditation to the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero.

You can find the application at  this link:

Rio de Janiero Accreditation

Deadline for submission is Nov. 30, 2014.

The process is open to:

  • Daily or weekly newspapers (limited availability for weeklies)
  • National news or sports magazines
  • Web-based organizations with staff members providing original content
  • Photographic media organizations with wide-ranging magazine, newspaper and web-based clientele

A reminder that late requests will not be considered for the first allocation and will be placed on a waiting list to be considered in future allocations.

The USOC notes that it has received a limited number of credentials for allocation to U.S. outlets from the International Olympic Committee.

A joint committee of the USOC and APSE will meet early next year to make final allocation. That date will be set soon and representatives of the APSE to the committee will be notified when the date is finalized. Requesting organizations will be informed in March if their request has been granted.
